The CA/Browser Forum has decided to shorten the maximum validity period of digital TLS/SSL certificates for encrypted data exchange from the current 398 days to 47 days only. However, this will not take effect immediately. The changes will be executed over several years. The 47-days period will not go into effect until March 2029.
This measure is part of efforts by all CAs to level up automation and security in certificate management. The implementation is planned as follows:
| Date | Max. certificate term | DCV Validity |
| 15 March, 2026 | 200 days | 200 days |
| 15 March, 2027 | 100 days | 100 days |
| 15 March, 2029 | 47 days | 10 days |
managed IP will inform their clients of these changes on time.
